In a lane of blue, green, yellow, and red, the students, faculty, and staff of Leon Ganzon Polytechnic College marched along the town of Balasan in the corresponding color of their teams during the Morning House Parade of the school’s TESDA Week Celebration, Wednesday morning, September 25, 2024.
In line with the TESDA 30th Founding Anniversary, LGPC brings the celebration to the locality with a twist of Dark Academia theme, taking inspiration from the famed film adaptation of the Harry Potter series.
The parade took off from LGPC with the marching lane led by the drum and lyre corps of Balasan Central Elementary School, followed by the House of Ravenclaw, the House of Slytherin, the House of Hufflepuff, and the House of Gryffindor escorted by the Philippine National Police of Balasan.
“Through these activities, we are teaching the students teamwork, fairness, honesty, a sense of responsibility, and sportsmanship, for these are valuable.”, this was said by Dr. Gemma G. Sasis, Associate Professor IV, in her welcome remarks during the opening program. She added, “I encourage everyone to enjoy each other’s company.”
In the spirit of festivity, everyone joined in on the community dance led by the SSG Officers of the school, where students, faculty, staff, and the guests followed along and danced to the upbeat tunes.
Likewise, everyone joined in the merriment of the event and competed in various competitions; raising the banner of their houses and showcasing their intelligent, mischievous, friendly, and adventurous personalities.
The two-day celebration included various activities and competitions such as Mass Dance: Contest Edition, Miss Hogwarts Enchantress, The Tetra Wizard Match: Fun Games of the Classics, The Wizardling World Quiz, Pasidungog 2024: A Toast of Appreciation, The Championship: Journey to Golden Snitch, Academia Night: The Society of Scholars, and Talent Night: Contest Edition.
