To capacitate the personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection-Balasan Fire Station by equipping them with electrical knowledge, Leon Ganzon Polytechnic College conducts the Basic Electrical Installation Course, November 21-23, 2024.
The said training is a partnership between BFP-Balasan and LGPC and is part of the school’s community outreach program called “Pag-ulikid”; conducted as a “Pag-paalam” project of the Electrical Installation and Maintenance (EIM) NC II program.
The opening program which served to mark the start of the training course was attended by Ms. Josefina B. Arellano, Vocational Instructor Supervisor II of LGPC, and Hon. Filomeno V. Ganzon, Municipal Mayor of Balasan.
FSINSP Delsie S. De Borja, Municipal Fire Marshal, welcomed the guests and participants and delivered a message on her expectations for the training.
“This training is not only an important milestone of our BFP personnel, but also a significant step towards enhancing the skills and capacity of our first responders. The aim of this course is not only to provide our BFP personnel with essential knowledge and skills in electrical safety and installation, but also to ensure our communities are supported by highly trained and capable local responders.” – FSINSP De Borja.
Representing Dr Ariel Reckonette B. Villanueva, VSS I of LGPC, Ms. Josefina B. Arellano, VIS II, emphasized the role of the community outreach program of the school in the conduct of the training.
“As an academic provider of the skills training, in LPGC, we have what we call Pag-ulikid Program, and we have these 7Ps. So, we can say that your program today for three days, under sya sa pag-paalam”, she added, “LGPC is very ready to provide you with training, as long as ang mga trainers pwede ma pull-out [from their classes], especially for this kind of training. Of course we will assign you the best trainers and give you the best [training].”
Showing his full support, Mayor Ganzon also shared his words of wisdom for the trainees and trainers.
“The partnership between BFP and TESDA reflects the essence of good governance, uniting institutions to serve people effectively. Investments in knowledge and training will impact the overall progress of our municipality. May you use your newfound skills to upkeep your lives and contribute to Balasan’s continued development.”
The 3-day training on Basic Electrical Installation Course is joined by 15 participants composed of BFP Personnel, PNP Officers, MDRR Staff, and Barangay Officials from Mamhut Sur, Mamhut Norte, and Balanti-an.
Leading the training is Mr. Rommel E. Esperida, Assistant Professor III and trainer in EIM NC II, to be assisted by other trainers in the said qualification.
The collaboration for this training served as a great opportunity for LGPC to showcase the quality of its training and to implement “Pag-ulikid” – displaying the dedication and willingness of the institution in offering its services to the people and the community.
