Leaving their marks in the history of Leon Ganzon Polytechnic College, the Graduating Class of 2024 walked up the stage clad in their togas, hoods, and caps as they received their diplomas during the 72nd Commencement Exercises of LGPC, October 29, 2024.
The ceremony was held to celebrate the culmination of the academic journey of students from the diploma courses in Hotel and Restaurant Services Technology (HRST) and Industrial Electrical Technology (IET), and trainees from various Competency Based Training programs of LGPC.
Likewise, Dir. Ramon Evan T. Ruiz, TESDA VI Regional Director; Dr. Esther B. Babalo, TESDA IPO Provincial Director; Dr. Ariel Reckonette B. Villanueva, VSS I of LGPC; Nielito “Doc Darl” Tupas, representative of Cong. Raul “Boboy” Tupas and Board Member Binky April M. Tupas; and Hon. Filomeno V. Ganzon, Municipal Mayor of Balasan, also gave their congratulatory message to the students for the milestone they’ve achieved as TESDA Scholar Graduates.
In recognition of their achievements, graduates who performed the best and came on top received awards such as the Skills Award, Supervised Industry Learning (SIL) Award, Leadership Award, Mayor Filomeno V. Ganzon Award of Excellence, and the Academic Awards: With Honor, With High Honor, and With Highest Honor.
As the top achievers of their respective courses, Jonie Gerine V. Barboza, HRST student, and Gary Jr. P. Sapio, IET student were the recipients of the Mayor Filomeno V. Ganzon Award of Excellence; while Prince John B. Cuñada, IET student, received the Leadership Award.
Bestowed With Highest Honor, Jonie Gerine V. Barboza, gave his speech as the top achiever of their batch, where he spoke on behalf of the graduating class and expressed their gratitude towards their parents, teachers, friends, and the institution for the undying support throughout their academic journey.
Before the end of the ceremony, the graduates recited their Pledge of Loyalty to the Alma Matter led by April Lyn A. Amo, With High Honors, while Pearl Joy E. Buenvenida, With Honors, led the Graduates’ Prayer and the Induction of Graduates to the LGPC Alumni Association was initiated by Ms. Arlene O. Golingan, LGPC Alumni Association President.
The commencement exercises began with the processional led by the marshals from Northern Iloilo State University, Sara Campus and concluded with the recessional led by theirs truly.
The 72nd Commencement Exercises may have concluded the journey of the students in Leon Ganzon Polytechnic College, but their accumulated skills and knowledge, will undoubtedly give them courage to challenge any voyage.
