LGPC joins 2025 Women’s Month Celebration

With the theme, “Babae sa Lahat ng Sektor, Aangat ang Bukas sa Bagong Pilipinas”, Leon Ganzon Polytechnic College joins the 2025 Women’s Month Celebration.

Spearheaded by the school’s Gender and Development (GAD) committee, the celebration had its kick-off on the first Monday of the month, March 3, 2025, and the program proper conducted the following week on March 10, 2025.

Leading the celebration was Mrs. Dana Mae G. Betita, Instructor II and GAD Focal, who presented the Symposium: Sheroes of History – Recognizing Women Who Changed the World, together with Mrs. Irish B. Caballero, Instructor I and Alternate GAD Focal,  who discussed the Symposium: Mind and Body – The Link Between Mental and Physical Health.

In addition to the symposiums, the program also included a Poster Making Contest and an Essay Writing Contest where students were able to express their creativities and thoughts on the role of women in history and society.

Seventeen learners showcased their talents during the Poster Making Contest; claiming 1st Place was Ms. KC Nones, while Mr. Renz Benree Cantara placed 2nd, and 3rd Place was Ms. Annelia Jane Obsanga.

On the other hand, seven students exhibited their literary skills in the Essay Writing Contest; coming in 1st Place was Mr. Russel Kent Beter, followed by Mr. Joliven Ralph R. Danganon in 2nd Place, and Ms. Angelyn A. Caonan in 3rd Place.

This year’s Women’s Month celebration aimed to highlight the importance of women in shaping society and served as a platform for the faculty, staff, and students of LGPC to reflect on the significance of women’s empowerment and to advocate for gender equality.  

LGPC celebrated the event not only to follow guidelines, but also to honor the accomplishments of women throughout history and to stand together with everyone in hoping for a brighter future for the country.
