SSG Leadership Development Training 2023

“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”

— John Quincy Adams

The Leadership Development Training for the SSG Officers for school year 2023-2024 was held last July 05,2023 (wednesday) from 8:30AM-04:00PM. 14 student leaders attended the 1-day seminar training followed by concurrent workshops. The event was facilitated by the respectful resource speakers namely Professor Jomartin C. Limson, DPA and Professor Mark Anthony Lopez.

The session of Professor J. Limson started from a tearful documentary about the “grassroots” which considered families below the poverty threshold. He emphasizes that good governance can help the lives of these families forgotten by the government. He left the students with this – the essence of being a leader is to be able to be of service to others and to collaborate with others. This in turn stirred a meaningful exchange of ideas and realizations amongst the student leaders themselves after the talk.

The afternoon session was followed by the concurrent tasks of Professor M. Lopez. The session covers a variety of topics such as Time Management and Organizing an event.

Present during the activity was the School Superintendent I of LGPC Dr. Ariel Reckonette B. Villanueva, School Instruction Supervisor II Ms. Josefina B. Arellano, SSG Advisers Ms. Regine F. Patricio and Ms. Ruby P. Napico and Ms. Dana Mae Betita, Instructor II of LGPC.

The 14 student leaders attended this event was the SSG President Waffa Ester Asturias, VP RJ Borbon, Secretary Aika Grace Aglinao, Treasurer Gary Sapio Jr., PIO Freddierick Namoca, HRST Representatives Joanna Mae De Felipe, Genevieve Baral, and Jecca Mae Estolano. IET Representatives Mark Redin Panisales, Edilberto Amo, Emmanuel Andreo, Jeffer Siodina, Jean Francisco and Sky Lyn Maghari.

Each workshop helped introduce the newly elected student officers to their duties for the school year. The sessions provided the student leaders with skills necessary to fulfill their roles.

The Leon Ganzon Polytechnic College has always striven for the holistic formation of its students. As such, it is through this training seminar and workshop that SSG commits to molding capable young leaders who are grounded in service, and are socially responsible agents of change.
