“To succeed, I need to find something to hold on to, something to motivate me, something to inspire me”, Jasmin Daquera Intila stated. Jasmin is 29 year old, married, a mother of two and a resident of Purok Tulihaw, Brgy. Maya, Balasan, Iloilo. Like many others, she wanted to finish a four year course but because of poverty she was not able to pursue her college education. She got married early and have two children.
As a mother she wanted to give the best for her children but since she did not finish her studies she can do nothing. Her husband supported them through his little business on baking and selling cake. To help him with his business, she decided to enroll in Bread and Pasty Production NC II at Leon Ganzon Polytechnic College under UAQTE scholarship program.
She believes that in order for her to succeed in life, she is not only motivated but has to be equipped with knowledge and skills. After her training in LGPC, she started to make doughnuts and other pastries. She also accept orders and online selling greatly helps in their small business. Their cake business now flourish and even known in the neighboring towns.
She said, “there is no shortcut for success. You need determination, hard work and inspiration.”
